In the first half of this year, Brazil installed a total of 2.3 GW of large-scale solar facilities and 4.5 GW of distributed photovoltaic power generation equipment.
According to the latest data from Brazil's energy regulator ANEEL, Brazil's newly installed photovoltaic power generation capacity in the first half of 2023 is eye-catching, reaching 6.8 GW.
Among the newly added photovoltaic power generation capacity, 2.3 GW came from 61 new large-scale photovoltaic power plants, and another 4.5 GW came from distributed solar power generation equipment, including photovoltaic systems with a scale below 5 MW. It is unclear whether these statistics include the 1.2 GW Yanauba solar complex, which was inaugurated in Yanauba, Minas Gerais state, by Elera Renováveis in July this year.
As of the end of June, Brazil's cumulative photovoltaic installed capacity this year has reached 32 GW, accounting for about 14.7% of the country's total installed capacity. Currently, Brazil's total installed capacity is 194.38 GW.
