According to the Swedish Energy Agency, 55,000 grid-connected photovoltaics were installed in Sweden in 2022, a 50% increase on the previous year, the daily reported on March 31. By the end of 2022, Sweden had 147,700 grid-connected PV installations with a total installed capacity of about 2.4 GW. Gothenburg had the largest installed capacity last year, with 83 MW, or 3.5 per cent of Sweden's total installed capacity. Halland County County has the largest installed capacity per capita, at 430w. The Swedish Energy Agency estimates that solar capacity will more than double in the next two years. Elin Larsson, an energy agency electricity market analyst, said that with concerns about climate change and the volatility of electricity prices in Sweden last year, more solar panels would be installed in Swedish homes in the future.
