According to foreign media reports, the Slovenian Environmental Public Fund (Eko Sklad) has recently launched two public appeals under a 10 million euro subsidy program for developers to install rooftop photovoltaic systems and supporting battery energy storage systems as well as rooftop photovoltaic systems and Heat pumps are subsidized.
In the first public call, the Slovenian Environmental Public Fund will accept applications for the installation of photovoltaic systems and battery storage systems. The scheme will provide subsidies of up to 50 euros/kW for independently installed photovoltaic systems and up to 500 euros/kW for photovoltaic systems paired with battery energy storage systems. For these two types of projects, the subsidy amount shall not exceed 25% of the total investment.
In a second public call, the Slovenian Environmental Public Fund will accept applications for the deployment of sustainable heating solutions, including solar thermal panels, heat pumps and biomass boilers. Subsidies for these projects shall not exceed 20% of the total investment. The agency will begin distributing funds on March 1 this year.
According to provisional data provided by the Slovenian Photovoltaic Association (SPA), the cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic systems in Slovenia will reach 724MW by the end of 2022.
The Slovenian government recently approved draft legislation to simplify the permitting process for renewable energy and enhance installation and deployment, especially for large-scale photovoltaic systems. The country released in June 2022 a target to install 1GW of photovoltaic systems by 2025.
