How photovoltaic power plants cope with high temperature and hot weather

Many people think that high temperature weather is full of sunshine, which can increase the power generation of photovoltaic modules. In fact, this statement is wrong. High temperature does not mean exposure to the sun, and the two are not unified. Hot weather is caused by intense solar radiation reaching the Earth's surface.

Under high temperature conditions, the output power of the solar cell module will drop significantly with the increase of temperature, making it unable to perform its normal performance; For inverters, when the temperature is too high, the full-load operation will easily lead to poor heat dissipation and affect the power generation; at the same time, the high temperature environment will greatly accelerate the loss of sensitive components. The water vapor generated by the humid and high temperature environment will enter the inside of the module through the edge-sealing silica gel or the backplane, which will induce the PID effect.

So, how to maintain photovoltaic modules in high temperature weather?

Maintain ventilation: Whether it is components or equipment such as inverters, distribution boxes, etc., keep air circulation. Do not unreasonably increase the number of PV modules in order to increase power generation, causing modules to block each other and affecting ventilation and heat dissipation. When designing a power station, a reliable service provider should be selected, and a reasonable plan should be designed according to the on-site conditions of the roof and the consideration of power generation.

Avoid the accumulation of debris: Make sure that photovoltaic modules, inverters, power distribution boxes and other equipment are open and free of debris to avoid affecting the heat dissipation of the power station. remove.

Appropriate cooling: In high temperature weather, the inverter and power distribution box are installed in a place where the sun and rain are protected. If the field environment is open in the open air, they are generally equipped with a canopy to avoid direct sunlight, which will cause the equipment temperature to be too high and affect the Power generation and equipment life. If necessary, add a cooling fan to the device.

In addition, in order to allow the photovoltaic power station to spend the summer safely and avoid equipment failure and possible disasters caused by high temperature, regular inspection of photovoltaic modules is also essential:

Touch the shell of the device to determine whether the temperature is too high, and whether the vibration of the device is normal. When touching, do not directly touch the device with a large area of the palm of your hand to avoid injury; listen carefully for abnormal noise from the fan, and smell whether it is caused by equipment failure. of burnt smell. In addition, it is also necessary to learn to view the equipment operation data, accurately determine whether there is an abnormal situation, record the problem in time, and notify the service provider to deal with it.

Use relevant tools to measure the temperature of equipment cables and casings, and make judgments based on the actual temperature and equipment conditions. The operation and maintenance personnel regularly visit the door for maintenance and inspection. If the abnormally high temperature weather continues, the inspection density needs to be increased and the equipment abnormality should be dealt with in a timely manner.
